The Agora building opens

France France

The newest Council of Europe building won Brussels-based architects Isidore Zielonka and Steven Beckers the MIPIM Award 2008 for their innovative use of green technology. It was given the name Agora – the Greek word for an open assembly place - on the suggestion of staff who saw it as representing one of the Council of Europe’s main pillars – democracy.
