3 December : Europe’s wildlife and natural habitats – 40 years of protection

Europe’s natural world has always been at the forefront of Council of Europe work – even before climate change became the issue it is today. Now the Bern Convention is celebrating forty years of nature conservation, protecting both species and habitats over the whole of the continent.
