Council of Europe foreign ministers mark the 70th anniversary in Helsinki

More than thirty ministers of foreign affairs from the Council of Europe’s 47 members states have gathered in Helsinki to celebrate the organisation’s 70th anniversary, as well as to discuss current business.

The meeting was also the occasion for the handover of the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers from Finland to France. The host country of the Council of Europe will hold the chairmanship for the next six months, when it will be succeeded for the first time by Georgia.
