Helsinki to Strasbourg bike ride

 

To mark the organisation’s 70th anniversary, a group of 20 cyclists composed of current and former staff members, as well as diplomats representing member states, are biking from Helsinki to Strasbourg.

The 2 400 km journey will take one month, starting on 17 May, when a Ministerial Conference in Helsinki marks the end of the Finnish chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers, and ending in Strasbourg on 17 June. Their homeward route will take the riders through the cities of Riga, Gdansk, Berlin and Fulda. Money raised through sponsorship will go to a local charity in Strasbourg that delivers hot meals to people in need during the coldest months of the year.
