Moving on....

Seventy years of the Council of Europe has come and gone. We’re looking forward to a new decade of protecting democracy, human rights and justice.

This year, we marked an important milestone. We looked back on a history of rising to new challenges - from preventing torture to stopping racism in its tracks, supporting culture and our natural environment, and making sure that medical science respects human rights. Then, as the anniversary year came to a close, we worked to make sure that human rights continue to be the guiding principle  in the fight against COVID-19.

Join us in September 2020, as we begin the countdown to 4 November, when we’ll be looking back on 70 years of the European Human Rights Convention..
